Early last week we piled the dogs in the car and drove down to Kenting (墾丁). Unfortunately, for a couple of reasons, we were only able to enjoy a small fraction of what Kenting typically has to offer. First, in their infinite wisdom, Taiwanese bureaucrats decided to close down the beaches (among other things). You know, because all the fresh air, sun, and outdoor space of beaches are well known vectors of disease ;). Hopefully Taiwan does not make the same mistake(s) that many nations and states did, destroying the lives and livelihoods of countless. Second, we had to leave early because a tropical storm decided to roll through. Anyway, what we were able to explore of the southernmost area of Taiwan was incredible. We will be back soon!
